Rules and Regulations
1. The show committee reserves the right to combine or cancel any classes.

2.  Proper attire is recommended but not required; however, entrants must wear helmets,
long pants, and hard soled shoes with heels whenever mounted.  English riders may not
wear chaps for equitation or pleasure. ASTM protective headgear shall be worn by all
riders BOTH English and western.

3. The show committee reserves the right to excuse anyone who is not conducting
themselves in a safe manner.  Good sportsmanship will be emphasized.

4.  Proof of a negative coggins, within 12 months, is required.  Members must submit a
copy of their horse’s coggins with their membership application.  No registrations will be
accepted without a current coggins.  If your horse’s coggins expires during the show
season, proof of a new negative test must be placed on file at the entry desk

5.  All dogs must be leashed.

6.  Due to park regulations, riding is permitted only in designated areas.

7.  Due to limited trailer parking space, vehicles not attached to horse trailers may not
park on the gravel lot.

8.  Martingales may only be used in EQUITATION over fences classes.  No drop or flash
nosebands allowed.

9.  In order to keep the show moving, jumping order will be predetermined and announced
prior to each class.  

10.  Because of limited space, there will be no warm-up jumps outside the ring; however,
there are jumps available on the cross-country course.  Ride at your own risk.

11.  There will be no jumping in the July show, instead, a Showmanship Class with three
divisions will be held beginning at 8 AM.  Western classes will follow Leadline and then
regular schedule of classes will follow.

12. The show series follows the rules as stated in the Maryland State 4-H rule book.  A
copy of this book is available for reference at the entry booth.  Decisions of the Show
Steward will be final.

13. Show series members will be allowed one division change per rider, per year.  Points
do not follow the division change.
